Set-Up (Scenery) was formed in 1999 when Mark Wilsher left Trestle Theatre Company  and didn't know what to do with his hands!  The first workshop was a small pig shed on a friends farm, but he outgrew this within a year having taken on a contract for Suncruises.

The first person he employed was Isobel the bookkeeper, then Nik who had to turn his hand to anything.  The workforce gradually grew as the workload increased then along came Lynne to 'help in the office' (and the workshop!)...

Mark's background is stage management and carpentry so Steve came in to do the steelwork. This has now grown to about 30% of our workload.  If we needed any fibreglass work this would be subcontracted to Jon Miller studios, however Jon liked the thought of working for a bigger organisation and joined us in 2006.

In 2007 Matt came from RADA for 2 weeks work experience, now he is Project Manager for most of the shows while Mark does the quotes.  Matt has built up a management structure that has Nik and Jon as Project Leaders.

Angela also came from RADA and has worked for about 3 years as a Carpenter but now she's been dragged into the drawing office to take the load off Matt. We recently took on Rowan to help take the strain off Angela!

When we moved to a bigger workshop in 2007 Steve decided to call it a day and Lee needed some work while Sheffield Crucible was closed for refurbishment.  He didn't go back when it reopened! And so the story continues .....
